Love blueberry muffins but feel in need of a something slightly healthier? Maybe overdone it over the weekend/month and need to hit that RESET button?

 

Then this is the smoothie recipe for you!

 

Taken from my Green Smoothie Challenge ebook and program this is one of my favourite ways to detox.

 

I love a good detox but so often people approach cleanses in a harsh, unloving and restrictive way. Not me.

 

A Super Naturally Healthy Detox is all about loving yourself enough to heal, eat really nourishing foods and make powerful decisions about what to eat, as well as munching on some delicious foods. It’s about focusing on what to ADD and green smoothies are just the perfect way to do it!

 

Why is this oh so good for you…

 

  • Blueberries are a great source of antioxidants, vitamins, and are a great low sugar fruit option. Also full of vitamin C which is great for warding away the cold and for those of you who live in UK they are a safe food to eat un-organic due to low pesticides – hooray!
  • Lemon Peel is a surprisingly effective and simple way to support your fabulous liver. It again in high in vitamin C, help reduce oxidative stress on the body and some studies have shown that it can help prevent cancerous cells developing in body too. Also contain pectin which can help keep you fuller for longer.
  • Almonds are full of calcium and protein which means this will keep you full for ages.
  • Avocados are just amazing for you as they are full healthy fast which are ESSENTIAL for a healthy body and for healing.

(This is the blender I use for a hand blender or basic stick blender would work fine too just expect slighter less smooth results)

Lemon & Blueberry {Muffin} Smoothie

The quickest and most delicious detox of your LIFE!
Servings 1

Ingredients
  

  • zest of half lemon
  • 100 g/1 cup blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 2 large handfuls of fresh spinach
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 300 ml filtered water
  • juice of a lemon
  • 1/2 cup or 60g almonds
  • a pinch quality sea salt
  • 1/2 ripe avocado

Instructions
 

  • Blend until smooth!
  • Makes about 700ml. Serves 1-2.

Notes

Feel free to switch in milk instead of water or to use kale instead of spinach.
