Welcome to the Green Smoothie Challenge!
For those of you who don’t know (where have you been?) today marks the start of the Green Smoothie Challenge, a ten day challenge where you commit to having one green smoothie or juice a day to see how much healthier energised, slimmer and sassier you could feel (yes spinach can make you feel sassy believe me!)
Green smoothies are a great and simple way to increase the amount of green vegetables in your day and if there is one thing that would benefit everyone’s health would be to double the amount of green vegetables you are eating. Green vegetables are so healing and beneficial to the body and super accessible to all, so you have no excuse not to get healthy:)
So to kick us off lets start with a recipe. This dear smoothie was what I started today with and it was luscious, full of goodness, super hydrating and squeaky clean. It is also a great beginner smoothie as it is sweet and creamy due to the avocado!
(Also, if you are wondering I use and am IN LOVE with the Froothie Optimum 9400 blender – I was saving up for a vitamix but after reading reviews I got this one instead as its is the same quality, potentially better, but much much cheap – click here to find out more)

But back to the recipe!
- 2 celery stalks
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 green apple
- 400ml water
- 1 banana
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1/2 gem lettuce (or use 2 handfuls of spinach)
- 1 date
- tiny pinch of quality salt
- Blend until smooth in a high powered blender.
